CPASEA Connect is a member benefit designed to help state CPA societies ask questions, exchange ideas, and share knowledge within the CPA community. The opinions and perspectives shared within Connect are those of the individual contributors and do not necessarily represent the views of CPASEA.
We encourage members to help create a professional, collaborative, and valuable experience for all participants.
Members Are Encouraged To:
- Include your name and affiliation in posts to encourage meaningful connections
- Search existing discussions before posting, as your question may already have valuable responses available
- Share knowledge, experiences, and practical insights that help others
- Build professional relationships and contribute to the strength of this community
- Communicate respectfully and professionally in discussions and replies
- Keep conversations appropriate for a professional audience
- Credit original authors, resources, and sources whenever possible
- Help maintain a positive community experience by reporting concerns or inappropriate content to cpasea@micpa.org
To preserve the integrity of the community, Connect may not be used for:
- Discussion of specific fee structures or pricing practices. These can raise antitrust concerns.
- Sharing confidential information
- Advertising products, services, recruiting opportunities, acquisitions, or non-CPASEA affiliated programs
- Excessive self-promotion or repeated promotional messaging
- Posting messages intended primarily to provoke, criticize, or escalate conflict
- Posting defamatory, abusive, threatening, offensive, or unlawful content
CPASEA Will:
- Support the growth of new communities and forums based on member interest
- Monitor forum activity and respond to member concerns regarding community conduct
- Moderate content that does not align with community guidelines
- Restrict participation for repeated violations of the code of conduct when necessary to protect the community experience
- Occasionally highlight or share community discussions to promote member engagement and awareness of Connect
CPASEA’s Role in Community Content
To encourage open peer-to-peer collaboration, CPASEA:
- Provides the platform for professional discussion and knowledge-sharing
- Does not edit member postings
- Does not independently verify technical accuracy of community responses
- Does not compensate members for contributions posted within Connect
